19

Ok so this is a few days late but it was my 19th Birthday on Friday. We headed up to Oxford Circus for the afternoon which included visiting Topshop and the huge Primark at Tottenham Court Road. Off the shoulder crop tops have been on my wish list for what seems like forever so when I saw this in Primark for just £2.50 I couldn't resist it. This skirt is amazing! I love it so much and it fits so well (which almost never happens when I buy things online!). To top it all off, it was £6 from Misguided. You can't really get much better than that.

Topshop and Missguided

I can't believe it's taken me so long to actually get around to adjusting this dress...I bought it all the way back in the Boxing Day sales! I love it though and it wasn't a bad deal either at around £20 from Topshop. When I first bought it, it was just above the ankles but I decided to shorten it so that I would actually wear it during the day. These heels were also part of my recent Missguided purchase and I managed to get them for just £6!

TV Style Inspiration

I thought I'd so something a bit different today involving a few of my favourite TV programmes and characters whose style I love. In particular Gossip Girl has some of the most incredible designer pieces, and if you haven't seen it and are into fashion, then why not!? It's definitely worth the watch (even if it is just to see Blair float around in Dior and Gucci).  90210, PLL and Friends also made it into the top 4....

90s crop top

When I saw this crop top in Topshop for £16, I decided to take on the challenge to make my own version for less. I took a trip to the fabric shop to buy this fabric for a mere £4.50 a metre, and then spent just an hour and a half constructing it. I also think I actually prefer this fabric as well, plus it has a really nice feel and stretch to it. Considering I used very small amounts of fabric the whole thing probably cost about £2.50 to make from scratch (which is definitely a better deal than £16!). Using bias binding may also be my new favourite sewing technique as it's so much easier for hemming especially on stretch fabrics like this which are normally a nightmare to sew with.

Also new in this post are my boots. They were £8 from Missguided! Yes, just £8! They're so nice, really comfy and great for all year round.

I was away on holiday last week so I haven't had the chance to go to London Fashion Week this season unfortunately, but I've been looking at the shows online and picked out some of my highlights...Here are some from days 1 and 2...

Basics

Because it's been raining all day I decided rather than trekking outside to take outfit photos I'd do a summary of some of the more basic pieces that I haven't yet shown on my blog.
